I’ll be honest, my partner and I are big foodies, and every trip we take is a new opportunity to explore new cuisines and indulge in local delicacies.
In my last post, I focused on the 12 best things to experience in Lisbon. Today, I want to share our favorite dining spots in the Portuguese capital.
1. Uma Marisqueira
We found this place completely by chance on our first night in Lisbon. It was late, we were tired and hungry after our flight, and all we wanted was to grab a bite and go to bed. So we walked into the first restaurant we came across, and what immediately caught our attention was the huge lineup outside. That usually means it must be really good, right? So we decided to arm ourselves with a little more patience. Those 15 minutes of waiting were honestly completely worth it.😋

We had a simple but lovely meal consisting of fresh fish, perfectly cooked. However, their absolute specialty is the seafood rice, which is what keeps people coming back.
Address: Rua dos Sapateiros 177, 1100-577 Lisbon
Price range: €15-25 per person
2. Cervejaria Ramiro
I didn’t know anything about this restaurant until we arrived because it was a reservation my husband had made, and he decided to keep it a surprise. And it was a lovely surprise indeed.
This place is a must for seafood lovers and is renowned for the quality of its products. Honestly, the fact that it used to be Anthony Bourdain’s favorite restaurant in Lisbon tells you everything you need to know. You simply can’t skip this one.

The garlic prawns, clams, and fresh oysters are out of this world. Although I didn’t get to try it because I was far too full by that point (pro tip: don’t fill up on the delicious bread basket they bring at the beginning!🙈), they also serve what many people consider the best prego in town, the famous Portuguese steak sandwich.
If you go and try it, please come back and tell me what you thought in the comments.
Address: Avenida Almirante Reis 1H, 1150-007 Lisbon
Price range: €40-70 per person
3. Da Prata 52
This was another lucky find, but it also happened to be my favorite. This cozy little tapas restaurant knows how to deliver an authentic Portuguese dining experience that is hard to match.

From the tuna ceviche and fresh braised scallops to the goat croquettes and grilled pork cheek, everything was to die for.
Address: Rua da Prata 52, 1100-150 Lisbon
Price range: €20-45 per person
4. Le 17.45
I admit I wasn’t entirely convinced about this one at first, even though I was the one who found it. The fact that it had nothing but five-star reviews made me raise an eyebrow. I thought there had to be something fishy going on. But there wasn’t, either figuratively or literally, as this place specializes in cheese and charcuterie boards.

The menu may seem a little intimidating at first, but it’s actually quite straightforward. The staff are friendly, patient, and more than happy to help you make the best choices.
They offer amazing-quality products, and we genuinely enjoyed everything we ordered. But what really stayed with me was the truffle brie. I would go back there in a heartbeat just to have that again.

Address: Rua do Norte 64, 1200-365 Lisbon
Price range: €20-40 per person
5. Pastéis de Belém
I saved the last spot for those of you with a sweet tooth who want to try something truly Portuguese.

This iconic bakery and café serves some of the best pastéis de nata in Lisbon. I talk more about it in my previous blog post, but if you’re looking for a small dessert that won’t leave you feeling overly full, this is the perfect stop.
The pastries are served warm, with a crispy, flaky crust and a creamy custard filling that is simply irresistible. Pair one with a coffee and enjoy a little Portuguese tradition at its finest.
Address: Rua de Belém 84-92, 1300-085 Lisbon
Price range: €2-10 per person
